Was at Perf ski in Orlando in march and noticed they still hadn't gotton Clincher gloves in. I was told they have orders but have'nt put any out. Then I notice that the latest Waterski magazine is advertizing Masterline gloves that look like clinchers. Have always loved clinchers and was wondering if anybody knows if they're the same product or if these masterlines are as good as they look?

RE: Clincher or Masterline
I have called Clincher several times and understand them to be out of business. I have talked to several dealers saying they won't be getting any in.

Don't take that as the final word. Just what I have heard. Again I have called several times.

Masterlines
Have been skiing with the Masterlines since late July, been a clincher user for many years but had to replace them, worn out. Masterlines are basically the same glove, probably bought the clincher patent but do not know that for sure. Two things I do not like about the Masterlines are: 1. the added velcro fastener on the back of the hand, does not seem to serve a real purpose except to make it harder/longer to put on and take off the gloves and 2. the inner wrist velcro strip, I feel this is also not needed and just a pain to fasten, didn't like this on the clinchers either. Seem to be wearing very well, have probably 75 to 80 sets on them to date. Size seems the same as clinchers also.2004 196 LE Black/Grey
