    Tribal Decal Removed

I finally got rid of the tribal decal. I was never a huge fan. I think this is much cleaner.

Nice work! That really does update the look of the boat and I'm with ya...
Totally worth all the effort and cost.

        This looks great!

Thinking about doing the same to my boat. How long did it take you to remove and how much work? I am assuming a heat gun with a plastic spatula should do the trick? Also, was there a noticeable change in the gel coat color? My boat is black and has been stored indoors its entire life.

I didnโ€™t do the labor myself but my dealer removed the black chromax lettering and replaced with white chromax lettering shown above
for $1,200.00 including lettering and labor

I did it on a warm day with no heat gun. Plus I had my kids help. Once we got the main sticker off we used goo gone to clean off any remaining residue. That took a couple hours. Then I used a wool buffing pad with light duty rubbing compound followed by a polishing wax. That took 4 hours. Like your boat, mine has always been inside so the coloring distortion was very minimal. I used acetone right before I installed the decal to make sure it would stick well. I'm happy the way it turned out.

The original tribal decal never looked good. You have taken what was a bad factory art/design and made it look great. Your improvement is how this boat should have been released form the factory.

Thanks JD. I'm excited to see how it looks on the water. Unfortunately I have to wait until next spring.

They appear to be white Chromax lettering from Nautique. Probably available from Nautique Parts
