Just bought my first boat, it is a1994 sport nautique open bow. I am 26 and still in college so I couldn't afford something really nice, but I think I will enjoy wakeboarding behind this boat. 5.8 pro boss engine with fuel injection and it has a lot of hours on it, 1,150 or so. Are there any "more serious" things I should inspect before I put it versus a boat with 500 hours? Came with a newer model nautique tandem axle trailer, wakeboard tower, and 4 tower speakers. All in all I think I got a pretty good deal for 7k. White on white with all the decals taken off makes it stand out. I was told the hull stayed the same for all the air nautiques until 2006ish? Any other things I should look out for?

Sport Nautique hull:
1st gen = 1989-1992
2nd gen (based on 90-96 Ski Nautique aka No Wake Zone hull) = 1993-1997
3rd gen (based on TSC1 Ski Nautique hull) = 1998-2002
The "Air Nautique" was the same boat as the 3rd gen Sport, just with different graphics. The "Pro Air" used the same deck as the 3rd gen Sport Nautique, but the hull was completely different. Also, dont get confused with the "Super Air", as that was based on the Super Sport Nautique and is a v-drive2009 Super Air Nautique 210 TE
2006 Super Air Nautique 210 TE
1989 Sport Nautique

Sounds like a great deal to me. Nice ride!! Congrats!! Check out all the basic stuff before taking a crew out. Leaks, cooling, pumps, charging, starting, etc.. Has it been serviced recently? New impeller? Inboards require a lot of maint. but definitely worth it. Keep an eye on oil consumption, they don't hold a lot to begin with, so a little burn could cause you a problem quick. Have a great time getting to know her!!2005 SV-211

Trust me, coming from wakeboarding behind a sea Ray or het ski, this will be a drastic change. Honestly I normaly ride cable parks, but now that I have my own boat I think I will be spending more time on the lake this season. And living waterfront is another plus

Everything inside the engine compartment looks really clean, no oil residue on the bottom. Which really surprised me since its a older boat with a lot of hours on it. Looks like somebody took care of it

Congrats on the buy!
My 1st Nautique was a 96 Sport. We used to load it up and had a blast with it. When I bought my 2004 SANTE I remember thinking the wake wasn't that much different, it was just easier to use (integrated ballast, tower vs. Fly High pole, etc.). no sacks needed.19 SANTE 210

How do those Bozzoka Tubbies sound on that rig? I am in the market for new tower speakers and just wondering what those sound like.. They are some that I am considering. Thanks...
