The 91 and up Barefoots are just the Nautique Excel V-drive with different optional graphics and optional 454 big block. No more DD Barefoots after 1990.Comment

the wake behind this boat is sick. rampy, wide, and has a nice kick to it...perfect. we also do a good bit of surfing behind the boat. for the wakeboarding set-up we use anywhere from 800-1000 lbs. of ballast. thats all that is needed along with that big 454 in the back end.Comment

yeah, the guy who used to make the oem towers for cc started a new company www.newdimensiontowers.com . He is really good at what he does and he custom makes a tower for every boat, not a universal type mount. Looks so much nicer that way.
BTW, check out www.stuckmag.com , its a new magazine dedicated to Midwest boardsports. a good friend of mine started the mag last year and it is really taking off.Comment

how do you weight it for surfing and how clean is it? i have a martinique which is the same hull just dd and a different deck cap and we could not get it to not wash out.Comment

For surfing, we fill a 400lbs. sac to capacity on put it on the starboard side of the engine compartment. An additional 300 lbs. of weight behind the drivers chair along with a few people in the boat. Keep the speedo right at 9-9.5 with a very slight turn of the steering wheel. It also depends on how you want to surf, goofy-footed or regular.
Next thing you know...you're gettin' barreled in kentucky.Comment
