Wife and I just bought our first Nautique. 2007 SANTE 210 with Excalibur 330. Only been out a few times. Did some regular maintenance and tune up stuff since it's a used boat who knows when anything was done last.
Changed:
Spark plugs/wires
Distributor cap/rotor (cap had quite a bit of corrosion)
Fuel filter
engine oil/ filter.
My first time to go wakeboard behind it we filled factory hard tanks, and piggy backed fly high system. 400lb sacs on each side in rear and the integrated bow sac in front which I believe is around 650 if full. (Although it won't fill all the way under the bow seats)
Just my wife in the boat pulling me and it would not get on plane. Got a little nervous but after draining some weight still got a decent ride in. Turns out after doing some prop research I have an acme 645 on it now. I'm looking into getting either a 1433 or 1617. I don't care about top end speed, but I don't want to have to worry about over revving at WOT say if someone else we're driving not aware of what prop is under there. I've seen the great reviews on the 1617, just concerned about over revving at WOT. (Which I rarely will ever do) I assume these motors have rev limiters, and if so, can they be trusted? Thanks for any input on prop selection and rev limits.
