First Day on the Water, new to me 2008 SAN 230, ZR6

After months of cleaning, polishing, and restoring "my new to me" 2008 SAN 230, we finally hit the lake on Saturday! Wow, what a blast and the ZR6 is incredible! I'm totally stoked for this summer... Can't wait to get out on the water again!!!

How's the grand Cherokee tow it? 4.7 or Hemi?

Nice looking boat, congrats! What did you have to do to restore it? I with Shawn, how does a JGC pull that beast? Mine on a Boatmate empty with about 20 gallons of fuel was 6200# on a Cat digital truck scale!

Miljack, not a huge restoration, the upper deck needed to be wet sanded and there was a lot of buffing to do. I had that professionally done, I don't have the patience for it. Then there were a lot of parts that were just worn out... gas struts, the hatch hinges, the pop-up pylon was jammed, etc. I did all that work myself, and I did all of the cleaning and polishing. I even scrubbed all the mildew and crud out of the bilge!

Shawn, the Grand Cherokee does have the Hemi, and the factory tow package with the transmission cooler. It has plenty of power for sure. Braking is surprisingly good as well, but I would guess that the Dorsey trailer with the 4 large disk brakes has a lot to do with it.

I've not driven it on a twisty road yet, I know the weight is getting up to the high side of the tow rating, so I expect it will get shoved around a bit. It won't be nearly as exciting as riding with my brother, he tows his Malibu 247 with an '01 Toyota Sequoia and drives like Tony Stewart. Have to admit I've gotten a few more grey hairs on road trips with him…

Overall, in my opinion, the Cherokee tows it just fine.

I'm really impressed with the ZR6 in my 230, I'll bet those Python powered 210s are a real thrill!!

Good to hear the GC is working for that boat. I am sure the Hemi does better but my 4.7 left a bit to be desired when going up steep hills at highway speed but other than that it towed and stopped my boat quite well.

Yes the Python is an amazing engine and a ton of fun in a 210.
