  • Nautique Welcomes John Akerman

    Official Nautique Press Release:
Orlando, FL (July 10, 2019) - Nautique is excited to welcome Pro Wakesurfer John Akerman to the Nautique team. As a pure talent and all-around incredible surfer, John comes to Nautique with a ton of experience behind the boat. The 2018 World Wakesurf Champion, John aims to take his surfing to the next level this summer during the Nautique Wakesurf Series. He’s already felt at home this season riding behind the award-winning Super Air Nautique G23.

“I’m super stoked to be joining such an iconic brand,” said John Akerman. “From the G23 to the Nautique Wakesurf Series and everything else that Nautique does, they stand above the rest. I am truly honored to join the Nautique Family.”

Born and raised in Florida, John has taken his love of ocean surfing and skimboarding behind the boat with great success. Along with a long list of event accolades, John was also named Wakesurfer of the Year in 2017. While he spends a lot of time behind the boat himself, John does a fair bit of coaching as well and is passionate about getting new and upcoming riders involved in the sport he loves.

"I am happy to welcome John Akerman to the Nautique team of athletes," said Nautique President, Greg Meloon. “John has displayed an immense amount of talent on the water while also being a great ambassador for wakesurfing off the water. I’m looking forward to seeing what surfing behind the best wakesurf boats in the world will do for John’s riding in the future.”
