There are plenty of boats / yachts that live in salt water. If they are not cared for they will all rot. Electrolysis is a problem for boats and it eats away at the prop, rudder, shaft and any other metal part under water. That is why sacrificial zincs are installed on the rudder and shaft.

LED lights on our ski boats being connected to the swim platform attach point IMO probably won't cause any problems. When I first brought up electrolysis I was just curious if any one else had opinions. I don't get what was so funny about asking the question Grant? Just trying to make internet conversation.

KP : No nothing wrong with asking question’s I guess my sarcasm is a direct result of having to re answer the same question Over and Over. Like I said its funny to hear the Arm Chair engineers discuss things that will probably never happen. IMO I’m more worried about global warming or a meteor hitting the earth then electrolyses eroding my swim step brackets. I thank you for making intresting internet discussion.

No disrespect to anyone. There are lots of smart people here on PN.com and they have helped me in many ways. Arm chair engineers make you think but Some times I wish these people (No one here on this board) would get out of their chair and do some R&D and contribute some real Practical information (like they actually tried it and have results) rather then looking over #'s and telling you how one thing is better or worse than another by a piece of paper or what a friend told them. I think that’s what makes a site really useful is when people can share Ideas and projects of work they them self's have done with other people looking to do the same project. Kind of like in the Re-carpet thread. Lots of good information.

There are some pretty heated posts over there... I think someone should tell them that no matter what it is, it'll look better with a CC behind it. Yellow_Flash_Colorz:
