Hoping someone here has run into this. I’ve got a 2018 G21 that did not come with nav from the factory. I bought a map dongle off eBay, plugged it into the harness for the LINC Panoray, and the maps now load and work fine.
The one problem: map depth readings are stuck in meters. When I switch the boat from English → Metric or Metric → English in the system settings, everything else changes over, but the map depths stay in meter values no matter what. Can’t get them to show feet.
I’ve dug through the settings menus and can’t find a separate depth-units option for the chart layer itself. So I’m trying to figure out which of these it is:
• Something about the map card / dongle I bought on eBay (since nav was a retrofit, not factory)?
• A hidden setting somewhere in the chart/map options that’s separate from the main System units toggle?
• A firmware update the Panoray needs to make the map layer read the system units correctly?
Has anyone with a retrofit map setup dealt with this, or found where the chart depth units actually live? Would love to hear if there’s a fix before I call a dealer. Thanks in advance.
