    In hull transducer location

I have a ‘95 Super Sport and I’m installing a Hawkeye depth gauge. Installed a few before and I understand the testing process for installation, however with my lake situation, I don’t have water to test in. I’m looking for a known good location for install. I was thinking about the back of the ski locker or just behind the bulkhead, forward of the fuel tank.

In my 1994 Ski Nautique, I mounted it reasonably close to the center-line of the boat and just forward of where the shaft passes through the hull. I tried to use the flattest spot possible for optimum accuracy. I wanted good water flow and little or no bubbles. I didn't worry about doing all this while the boat was floating in water. This worked very well for my glue-on (shoot-through-the-hull) unit.

Much different boat but on my 2016 200V the depth sounder was located just in front of the engine close to the centerline. This was the case with several other vDrive's I've worked on as well.
