I recently purchased a 2002 Ski Nautique limited with Excalibur engine. Pulled a slalom skier for maybe 4-6 runs last Saturday at 34 mph and no issues. Pulled a new skier today who was getting up on a HO Hovercraft and wiping out 3 straight times before getting up. Felt like the engine bogged down slightly during the hole shot, and then was fine. When skier wiped out, I would pull back the throttle immediately to neutral and the engine light came on and the engine had killed/stopped. Would start it back up fine. This happened 3 straight times. Then got her up on two skis and everything was seemingly fine. Then I took out without a skier and seemed normal. Oil pressure was 20 and would get up past 40 once it was planed out and moving. Engine temp was around 140 and dropped once planed out and moving. Thoughts?
