I was filling the ballast on our new G 23 and suddenly this warning sign popped up with the message: Starboard Ballast Pump short circuit fault!
when I selected details on the screen, this is the fault I found: Stbd Ballast Pump (25A) - short. I reset it and everything seems to be fine, but I’m curious what the issue might have been or should I take it in for service? Any thoughts or advice is appreciated.
Also, as a newbie, is it recommended to fill the ballast tanks when cruising at very slow speeds and also discharging or emptying the ballast at slow speeds or can you fill and or empty at cruising speeds?
Lastly, I noticed that water was ejecting from a hull fitting when filling the ballast tanks. It continued to spit it out water until the ballast tank was full. But it ran water through the ejection fitting for quite some time while filling. Not sure if that’s normal?
thanks!
