Got it back today with a new throttle base. Time will tell.

We had the throttle base replaced. Ran it probably 5 different days (pretty short sessions) and all was good. Last run tonight same thing. Won't start.

We also replaced the starter relay. Did talk to original service center and they had no record of starting issues from last owner (i do believe them).

We did have the dealer put a new linc screen in before we took ownership (under warranty .could that have caused the problem? Where do I turn next?

When our current dealer took it in before we had it, the dealer also said some of the harness in the bottom of the boat weren't secured and the engine needed to be realigned. They did fix those things. Could either of those be causing this?

      Thanks much

Went out again this morning. Brought some tools to try and chase if it fails.

Failed after a couple pulls. Started working my way thru what I could and petty quicky tried shaking this harness. Not sure what the THR harness right in the front of the engine does, but after a little jiggle started up on next attempt. Could that be my loose harness or was it just randomly working again unrelated??

        Thanks much.

That's not a factory marking to my knowledge. Don't recognize that as an acronym either. Kinda makes me think someone has been trying to figure out this same problem in the past.

Is the boat under warranty? If so, this seems like a pretty elusive issue. May be best to have a discussion with Nautique corporate about them taking the boat and taking the time to go out and recreate the problem with techs that can diagnose the issue.

I work on a lot of boats of all different brands. Nautique's are notorious for their way overly complex engine start procedure. Between the keypad, eControls ECU, PME, Throttle base assembly, transmission neutral interlock, overboard switch etc, a whole lot of things have to go right before it'll start. For a problem like this, you have to be setup with monitors for all those kind of things to be ready to see what's preventing the start sequence when the actual problem occurs. Things like wiggling harness are a waste of time without the right monitors in place. Because you'll never distinguish between the wiggling being why is started or just the intermittent nature of the issue. You'll never figure out a problem of this complexity without a very regimented and repeatable diagnosis process.

Interesting. Sounds very much like a dealer issue.

I wonder if the 'THR' acronym is for 'throttle'. Not that this helps anything but it's only item I can think of.

It is under warranty untill April 2027.

Was going to have the dealer take it next week, but now I figured out how to hot wire it, so may just limp thru the season and let them figure it out over the winter..
