Just picked up a 2002 210, super excited about it! Noticed the steering wheel wiggles a bunch. I removed the center but under the steering wheel plate but it is tight. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I'm assuming you have a tilt helm. I've tried to fix these in the past with no joy. Typically about the time the steering cable goes the helm is worn out as well. The ones I've worked on will have pinion wear which will affect how tight the steering is (steering wheel to rudder movement). The tilt mechanism is made of pot metal and is not a precision piece by any stretch of the imagination. They wear anywhere there is a moving part and in the locking pawls.
I started changing out the tilt when doing the steering cable if there was any slop in the wheel. The difference is night and day and for $200 it's a price performer that will make your boat steering like new again. I've had zero complaints about the $200 once the owner gets behind the boat the first time. This is one of those things the sneaks up on you and you don't really notice how bad it's gotten until you drive the boat once it's been replaced.
I'm sure others will have their own opinions but for me if you're already doing a steering cable you're 50% of the way to changing it anyway.

Yes, tilt helm. Makes sense! Yea, it was the first thing I noticed when I checked out the boat and the owner said he never noticed it, which is crazy to me!
it’s part of the boating experience for me so $200 is nothing! If I take the boat out like it is now, it’s all I will think about when operating the boat lol. Where did you get the tilt parts to replace? Also, is the steering cable a hard job? Had the mechanic do it on my previous boat
im also dealing with this shaky and sloppy feeling on the throttle arm, haven’t checked it out yet though
