Hey, I have 86 SN 2001 - noticed the boat does not turn over when the accessories button is pressed, I am thinking this is not normal behavior. I am not good with a multimeter yet but, I have a feeling I am going to get good shortly. Where do i start? Set the voltmeter at 20v and check where first? any insight will be much appreciated.

Robman what is the accessories button for? Once boat runs what happens if you turn that button on?? How old is your battery??? -
The Accessories button has hooked up to the JL audio amp M2250, the remote power spot on amp. battery is 2 years old. if the boat is running and you hit the accessories button, runs fine. my batter has 2 sets of posts. i put the amp on the smaller posts.Last edited by Robman; 1 day ago.Comment

Start with the battery check for voltage and load test. Any autoparts store will load test or go to Amazon and get an inexpensive load tester from Topdon (will also give voltage). I assume you are running a starting battery...not a deep cycle. Check the ground and confirm the cables are free of any corrosion.

Thanks, Srock for the suggestions. I have an update on the issue. When I checked the JL Audio amp wiring, the positive wire for the amp was on the main post and the negative on the smaller 2nd post. I reconnected the positive to the amp to the smaller post and redid the connections on all post to make sure all connections on all 4 posts were good and tight. The issue on what little testing I did seems to be resolved. I will put the multimeter to it tomorrow and get readings tomorrow when i more time, and post results. Thanks for your help.Comment
