1993 sport nautique high temp fixed.

I recently purchased a 1993 sport nautique after owning a 82 2001 ski nautique for 23 years. the sport nautique was running temps between 185 and 200 deg while pulling skiers.
I replaced the impeller, thermostat, cleaned the manifold riser and installed new gaskets. added a new gasket to the strainer that was missing, checked the incoming hose from the inlet through the heat exchanger which was clear, and then removed the strainer and installed teflon tape to the fittings. everything was clear to the rwp, i ran a water line and connected it just past the rwp and the temp stayed at 160. I rebuilt the rwp with a major repair kit. after reinstalling this my temps have not gone over 165 and usually stay around 155-160. i dont know if rebuilding the rwp or the teflon tape on the strainer fixed the problem but it appears one of them did. Also for me being able to bypass the rwp and running a garden hose past the pump helped me eliminate or narrow down if i had a engine or a flow problem, hope this helps someone, and thanks for everyone on previous high temp problems, searching through old post helped alot.

    Thanks,

    Todd
