    SN200 2014 Normal engine temperature

    Hello All,

Since this year I am owning a Ski Nautique 200 with an PCM Excalabur 343 engine. I have some questions about the normal running temperature when skiing.
When I am pulling a skier 55 Kph ( 34 Mph ) my running temp is about 164-165 degrees. Then wen I drop of the skieer the temperature rises to max 170 degrees and goes down after a few seconds at idle to 161 degrees. When the boat is at idle it stays at 161 degrees.
Is this normal behaviour for a nautique ? My previous MC Prostar 190 boat didnt go that high in temperature.

I allready placed a new impeller and a new thermostat. I also placed complete new water strainer. Tightened all the clamps from the water hoses, to be sure there are now air leaks.

Can somebody share his experiences with same boat ?

Your temperature is also al litte bit above 160 degree, I read somewhere that this should be spot on 160 under all loads
I don't want to overheat my engine, then you have a lot of ****.

Don’t worry about it. Your boat is functioning normally. Every ski boat will gain a few degrees on the back side of a ski run through the course. Totally normal.

We usually see about 162 underway. It will surge to 163 164 when you come down to idle. I usually just throttle up slightly to high idle for about 45 sec or so until it bumps back down to 162 or lower
