2007 SV211 Team Edition gauges working erratically - bad faria gateway?

    Hi All,

All of my gauges with the exception of my Perfect pass gauge have started intermittently malfunctioning. Perfect Pass gauge works and gives RPM readout. They will usually not work at all when I leave the boat sitting and start it up for the first time and then gradually come back to life. The fuel gauge doesn't work at all but I suspect this is related to the sending unit and not the other gauges. The engine temperature gauge ticks like the second hand on a clock should. The speedo computer screen that gives depth works once all of the gauges come back to life. The computer screen on the tachometer gauge doesn't really ever fully work. The characters on the screen are difficult to make out. Sometimes I can make out the numbers but other times I cannot.

    Pics and video below.

    Two main questions:
    1) Does this sound like a faulty Faria gateway or something else?
    2) Do the engine safeguards against overheating still work if the gauges aren't working? I'm slightly concerned about overheating if I can't see the engine temperature on either the analog temperature gauge or the digital screen.

Thanks in advance for the help.

The symptoms certainly look like a Gateway issue. The oil pressure switch and the temperature switch don't run through the Gateway. I see some work in your future...

I bit the bullet and purchased the $1,333. Not a difficult job, just took some time. I'm happy with the results.
