Looking at buying a 2005 SV211 with ZR6 engine. Seller says hour meter was replaced. Now has 128 since replacement. Would they start it back at 0 when replacing? Should I be worried about this. He isn't original owner. Boat looks good otherwise.

If the gauge package is anything like mine, the hours on the dash will restart from zero. My tach in the 4-in-1 gauge cluster was sticking so I replaced the multi gauge in that position which also housed the hour meter. When I powered up, the hour meter was sitting at zero. I'm told if you have the screen it's smart enough to pull the hours from the ECU while the gauge package I have is not.
The easy but expensive way to verify the hours would be for the dealer to pull them from the ECU for you. In this and most cases I would highly recommend a survey be completed for a boat this age. I would also recommend that any survey being done on a boat with an ECU include them pulling the engine hours off the ECU. In my case, I kept the old gauge so I can power it up for anyone that would like to verify the hours. That said, I would not be insulted in the least if they wanted a survey that included verification of the hours. I'd actually welcome it as long as I got a copy of the survey in case they backed out of the deal.
It's always a practice of "trust but verify" when purchasing any used boat or car.
