    RGB Underwater Light Issue - 2024 G23

    All,

On all 3 of our G boats (2018 G21, 2020 G21, 2024 G23), we have had the dealers (3 separate dealers) install aftermarket RGB underwater lights and wire them to sync with the color-changing enhanced courtesy light package through the Linc system. They all worked flawlessly. When we purchased the 2024, we went with an expensive aftermarket light that the dealer specifically recommended (Lumitec Javelin 600X Underwater Light), which they installed and which worked flawlessly for a couple of months. Late summer, the lights started changing colors out of phase with the courtesy lights. We asked the dealer to look at this over the winter, and now they are _adamant_ that RGB underwater lights are not compatible with my boat, they never were, and that I'm wrong that they ever worked. They claim to have verified this at 'the highest levels of Nautique engineering'. I'm at a loss, given that they worked in this very boat for several months, and in my previous two boats for as long as I owned them. I'm also confused about why my dealer is acting so aggressively about this, but that's a separate issue.

Does anyone have any insight? Hoping that maybe NautiqueJeff can weigh in, as I know (per previous posts) that you have aftermarket underwater lights installed on your boats.

    Thanks,

Hey Bob, that would be worthy of a call to Lumitec (maybe you've already thought of that). I would think those lights should still be under warranty?
Remind me not to go to your Dealer, strange story there.

Scooter, we're thinking alike - I've already got a customer service / technical request in to Lumitec. We'll see. Either way, I'm not happy - on both G21s, we bought much cheaper Blast RGB LED underwater lights (~$250 apiece), and they worked perfectly in sync with the courtesy lights/Linc. Our current dealer specifically recommended the Lumitec's, which are much more expensive (3X the price). So if these lights do work with the Linc, the dealer has dug in and says they so we're on our own. And if they DON'T work with the Linc, we're also SOL as the dealer is denying ever saying that they would work.

Odd that a dealer would alienate buyers of $300k boats in this economy, especially ones that are on their 3rd Nautique, over a couple hours labor. So frustrating, and strange indeed.

      Wish me luck...

      - bob

Agree with you with the lack of Dealer backing over what, $1500 bucks? They should have your back here. Especially since it sounds like you have a few options to choose from there on a days drive, but they also know you are probably not coming in for an upgrade any time soon. It's kind of a fine line with Dealers, like walking on egg shells, you want things made right, but at the same time, you don't want to be that guy that they see coming and put your boat at the last of the line when there is a serious issue. We are super fortunate here with Idaho Water Sports (not affiliated), they always bend over backwards even if it's a bit of a grey area. I have heard some horror stories with some of the other local Dealers, word spreads fast in a small community.
Good luck, I think the manufacture will lend a hand here, hoping...
