Thanks! How long did you run your boat with that noise before you traded it in?

Hey all- just in case anyone runs across this in the future and wants to know the resolution…. Thanks to a tip from one of the Facebook Nautique group guys, Inhad the dealer update my ECM with the latest software version and that made the funny noise disappear! This was done just yesterday- June 12, 2025 with the most current software version (I believe its version 0008, and had version 0005 even though my ZZ6 is less than 4 years old. PCM didn’t tell the dealer what the software changes did. But the guy on the FB group says this:

“The change to the software was a different voltage to the throttle blade stepper motor, if I remember right. the software you had gave the throttle blade too tight of a percentage and would basically bounce it back and forth endlessly creating the wawawa sound. once they loosened up the recalled percentage it cleared up!”

We put about 500 hours on that boat, and had the issue almost from the start.

Great news that you got it resolved! I would never have guessed it was an ECM update issue, but glad you got it sorted. And thanks for posting the resolution for the rest of the forum!

Thanks Bob. That’s good to know. I’m here at Lake Powell this week and have been running the boat all day every day and the sound is definitely gone!
