Anyone remove drivers side valve cover(harness/brackets)?

Hi all,
The very last off-season to do is to change my valve cover gaskets. The driver side back plug had some oil on the spark plug when I changed them.

Passenger side is done but when I look at the driver side there’s all that hardware over the top of the valve cover.

Anyone seen a video/write up or just some basic pointers on what needs to be taken apart to get that valve cover off?

I had the exhaust riser off already because mine was shoved too far down blocking my impeller access so I’m already ahead of the game for a little elbow room

Just wanted to close the loop

If anyone else wants to change gaskets as well. ..

The driver side valve cover, pretty easy with some -nylon bolts and nuts to remove six I think.
-One larger bolt towards the rear of the engine for the bracket as well
-Move the harnesses out of the way.
-Unplug the connections from the injectors as well.

***The biggest benefit to get either valve cover off is to use a prybar and to bend the engine hoist loops.

Pry them away from the engine block to clearance the valve cover. They obviously fold in when they hoist the engine up to bring it over into the bilge for install.

I torqued the valve cover bolts to about 8 foot pounds.


But just to share the wealth, my stock gaskets on the valve covers looked totally fine (Midwest based 2006). People may just want to re-torque the valve cover bolts in place. I.e. loosen them pop the cover, free a little bit and then re-torque to reseat the rubber seal. If they're finding a little oil on a spark plug.
