Sorry, I just saw your question this morning. The install of the Blue Seas ACR was actually pretty simple for me, since I have installed them before and had the right sized wire and lugs on hand to make my own cables. I realize the installation suggests connection directly to each battery positive, but there was room to mount it on the back of the panel, beside the 1, 2, 1+2 switch which allowed me to go directly off of those large cables/terminals and keep all of the wires pretty short. I installed an LED in the little cubby hole on the left side of the steering wheel, which illuminates when the ACR combines the batteries.

i ended up just getting a couple of standard lead/acid Interstate group 24 marine starting batteries.
they were the only ones available locally without having to wait a couple of days.
they have the same specs as the factory.
so i am set until the next go around.

batteries are not covered under the Nautique 5 year warranty?

No, they are not. the battery manufacturer warranty is all you get.
