    Limp mode 196/2000, 5.7HO engine

Hi, can anyone advise if a 196 year 2000 with 5.7HO would have a limp mode? I’m not sure on an engine of this age. Boat gets to 1500rpm then feels like it is choking, all seems good in carb department and choke is moving freely. Fuel is good, fresh and clean. We did find a small oil leak at oil sensor which seems to have been shorting, now replaced and heading for water test
    thanks

If its carburetor engine it does not have limp mode.
