I have a 1998 176, there is a silver ring that is at the base of the throttle stick, it basically holds everything in place. It is coming looser and I have to keep pushin it back in. Otherwise the throttle get lose and swing freely. It also prevents the lockout from engaging. I can’t see anything that holds it in to place other then snapping in to the assembly on the other side of side wall. I don’t even know what part it is to research it and find a repair option. I’ll be attaching a pic and an arrow to the piece that keeps comin out.
