Well I am looking at a 2002 Ski Nautique and i ask how many hours are on the boat and they tell me it does not have an hour meter so did Nautique make boats without hour meters

The hour meter was probably lost when the LCD gauges went out. I replaced my Perfect Pass in mine, so I do not have any idea the exact hours my boat actually has.Ski on dude!

These engines can run 1000ends of h if well maintained. Ask for maintenance records. If engine, transmission oil and impeller are changed ones a year, I would not worry about hours.
You can also do a compression test an pay attention to engine temp., oil pressure and smoke from exhaust after running it full throttle for a minute.
Look at the oil after test drive if it looks milky run away.

Is 2002 the Ford or Chevy block? You can pull hours from the computer on the Chevy block. On the Fords you’ll never know without a meter. A compression test (and leakdown test if you really want to be paranoid) will tell you more than an hour meter will.

I am pretty sure with the code reader on a GT40 you can extract running hours. I have a code reader, should give it a try. It's better to find out that status of:
1. Fuel system has been done/gone over
2. Tranny fluid /health
3. Engines break in nicely with operation. So that compression test will give an idea.
4. General maintenance, including trailer
in other words hours are just a number.

Is PerfectPass installed? If it’s original, you can pull hours off PP…that assumes that the PP wasn’t reset to zero. My 2001 had the LCD gauges and it was almost impossible to read the hour meter. So, I looked at the OEM installed PP and got the hours. Once I saw the PP hours, I could sort of make out the LCD gauge numbers to confirm.
