Hi, I have a 2020 G23 and for some reason it has stopped steering properly going left only. At low speeds it is nearly impossible to turn left without the steering assist, turning right is normal. At higher speeds it isnt nearly as bad but is still noticible turning left. I will be taking it to the dealer in 3 weeks but wanted to see if anyone had recommendations of something I could check. I have already tried manually moving the rudder while the boat was out of water and it appears to have a full range of motion. Any advice on what to check/adjust would be appreciated. Thanks

Is the little tab on the rudder missing by chance? Our 21 P23 has twice now had "power steering" issues but in both directions. Each time it was after killing the engine while switching riders where when you start going again it feels like a car that threw the power steering belt and it's extremely heavy and sluggish. Both times we have stopped, completely shut off the boat, and rebooted and all was fine. If it happens again, I'll be calling the dealer (at this point 25 hours in I'm sure it will).

Took my 2021 g25 Paragon out yesterday for the second time. We stopped to switch surfers and the steering wheel would not turn left. Turns right fine and then back to center. At center it locks and will not turn left passed center. Calling dealer this morning. No idea what it is.

That sucks, but it sounds different than the issue we had. Both times you could still steer right and left, just very difficult to do. Let us know what your dealer says.

I checked the rudder again. There is nothing missing but it noticibly maxes out at a shorter steering distance when turning left than it does when turning right. So it won't let me steer fully when going left. I think the dealership must have put something back on incorrectly. The rear thruster had to be fixed at the begining of the season and the steering has been an issue since. Will have to wait until the end of the season for them to fix it.

not sure if any different then my old g21. but i would be curious if you turn the wheel both ways, lock to lock and count how many revolutions 2, 2.5 or 3. whatever it is. and then go exactly half way, is the rudder centered?

Centering steering wheel... - PlanetNautique Forums
Probably have to do the above adjustment. I never did it before but either steering wheel removal or rack adjustment.
I kind of think you just have to remove the rack, then center the rudder, and then center the steering wheel and then re-install the rack.Last edited by scottb7; 07-23-2021, 07:09 PM.
