Adding Gas Struts to an FCT2 tower

I did some searching and haven't found much so I figured I would ask here. Has anyone mounted gas struts to their FCT2 tower? I can fold it up and down just fine but anyone under 6' in height will have a real issue. It isn't the lightest tower as well with a couple of speakers on it. I was thinking of adding some gas struts to help with the fold down but not exactly sure were they would need to mount as the towers range of motion is pretty large. I would think it would be possible just trying to figure out the best location for mounting. I would also look at utilizing some type of band around the tower legs for mounting them to instead of drilling into the tower. If I was happy with them I could permanently mount them to the tower if the band didn't work.

Nobody has attempted to do this? I will take a look at it this weekend and see if I can determine a good location for mounting that would provide the support needed.

Hey I just put a quick post in the DIY section. I found using my trailer winch you’re able to either lift or lower the arch to a point where you can handle it.

It’s not exactly ideal for one person but it kind of gets things to a position where you can lower it or tip it to raise it safely. At least do it if you’re a little shorthanded.

LOL as in only my wife is able to crank the winch and the teenager is nowhere to be found.
