Raw Water Strainer and Perko Pro Flush Kit Question

Is it common for the inlet side of the raw water strainer to be 1" and the outlet to be 1 1/4" on my 2006 SANTE 210? Seems odd to me but I am guessing the oil cooler must be 1 1/4" in diameter.

I am installing a Perko Pro Flush and figure the best place is after the strainer to prevent debris from messing up the backflow spring in the ProFlush.

Any thoughts or recommendations are greatly appreciated.

The Boats I worked on are the same because the intake hull fitting is 1 inch and as you said the cooler is 1 1/4 that's the only way to plumb it unless you changed the hull fitting to 1 1/4 inch or used a 1 to 1 1/4 reducer and then changed the hose to 1 1/4 and the fitting on strainer to 1 1/4 but you would still have the 1 inch hull fitting as a restriction but then you could get a 1 1/4 in flush pro or you could just build your own flush tee (less chance of failure) as seen on this site.
