    • 2001 Air Nautique Previous 1998 Air Nautique

Just realized I never replied to this thread…sorry. And I appreciate those who had chimed in. I was probably super pissed off that I could not get the boat fixed (so I never got back on the forum) and so I ended up buying another boat and never fixed the damaged one. When I got a mechanic to look at it I had a destroyed piston. Looked cracked or melted. Incredible damage. I never changed the manifolds and it appears that may have been the cause. Or someone said maybe the fuel injectors caused the issue. The oil was never milky or anything.

I now have a 2001 air nautique that it’s in pretty good shape. At least the other one lasted me about 12 years. It was a 98 that I bought in 2010. My new to me 2001 overheated on me this weekend but just from a worn out impeller. I took off one of the risers to inspect bc I noticed a bit of water marks on the outside decal. Most likely going to order new manifolds and risers. I don’t want a repeat of what happened last time.

That riser looks OK to me. Normal rust for a fresh water boat.
