    Dtc 116

Was thrilled to break our quarantine and finally get back on the water. Water temp was 48 but it felt **** good to get a couple of sets in! However, i later got the DTC 116 ECT higher then expected error. Found a couple on post on this but wasn't too clear on where i should be looking. I did tighten the strainer up but there error did come back. On top of the the boat seems to be running a little louder then usual(Link below ). I did replace the belt last year and I did my yearly impeller replacement myself. I always summarize my boat, wonder if I'm missing a step.

Any thoughts here.. just got the warning again and afraid of doing any damage. Unfortunately dealer is not an option at this time

I would check for blockage or debris at the water inlet pick up, double check the strainer for air leaks, possibly might not be getting the proper amount of water needed? Just a thought

FYI I did figure this one out. Installed a brand new impeller that looked identical to the old one but was not a genuine part. Sure enough it was worn down and had some splines missing(after only a few runs). Installed a new one and haven’t had issue since. Done trusting local dealers
