    Where is Fuel Sending Unit on 2009 230?

    Troubleshooting fuel gauge issues. When I bought the boat, the fuel gauge was stuck on full even with power off. Gauge was replaced with new one from NP. Worked fine for a couple of rides with the tank about 1/2 full. Then I completely filled tank, and after 4 hours of use, the gauge was still on Full. Different from last time however, when cutting power the gauge does go to zero. So since it's a new gauge, that leads me to believe it's a Fuel Sending Unit problem.

    I think if I remove the big floor panel it will be under there on top of the fuel tank? Does this troubleshooting seem sound?

      Yes, its under the floor panel on top of the fuel tank. I have been having recent issues with my fuel gauge not reading correctly either but thinking mine may be a software update needed since its digital. Notoriously inaccurate on boats since the tanks are long but not deep and it will only read consistently when boat is at rest. When surfing bow up, mine will jump to 100% reading even when there is only a half tank.
      Sounds like your float may have gotten stuck in the up/full position, if you remove it to check be sure you check/double check that there are no leaks when you re-assemble.

          Thank you. I just wanted to make sure of the location before I go tearing into it, and it wasn't there. I don't mind replacing it, and I'm not striving for 100% accuracy, but something not working properly drives me nuts.

              So I pulled the floor and fuel sending unit and it didn't appear to be binding at all. Plus there was still LOTS of fuel still in the tank. I find this odd given we were on the lake for about 4 hours surfing, but we are all beginners, and I think there was lots more time spent at idle than at surf speed. Anyway, it's showing about 3/4 tank which given how much fuel I could see, is probably about right. On the plus side, I now know how to do it! As an aside, what is the red handle down near the bottom of the hull?

                  Red handle, trace the lines. It is most likely either you inlet for sea water to cool the engine or pick up for the ballast.
