I think once the surfable pontoon boats wake has been tweaked and refined , it will appeal to a much broader scope of purchasers due to the popularity of pontoon boats in general and the increased popularity in surfing. In addtion, you can pack these pontoon boats down with many folks that a tradition surf boat and they have lower price points. This will not happen overnight but IMHO, I think this will become the next genration of surf boats (forward thinking +5 years)Originally posted by DVskier View PostWhy wouldn't so one just buy a 3-5 year old 230? It seems the surf toons won't really produce a crisp wake for surfing.Last edited by GMLIII; 11-06-2018, 03:16 PM.

IMHO - With traditional surf boat sales booming in popularity, I'm thinking the surfable pontoon boat concept is going to be a homerun in sales over time with much lower price points and will appeal to a larger customer base than todays surf boats.Originally posted by DVskier View PostJust a bit of thread drift. Not sure that there will be a big demand for Surf a Toons. Although there is a guy on my lake with a twin 300 hp tri toon.

We are talking about the recently released surfable pontoon boats not the traditional pontoon boats. See links belowOriginally posted by DVskier View PostI have a pontoon also. Great for cruising the lake or visiting friends when I don't want my Nautique to get slammed around. Just throw the bumpers out and don't worry about it. Very economical too, with a 115 hp Yamaha I can run hours on less than 10 gallons. Plus no winterizing.

Will be interesting to see how the pontoons do. Majority of boats on my large lake are pontoons and my guess is that if the wave is decent at all they will sell well. Wonder where the ballast will be, in the pontoons? That part would actually be kindof cool tho the pontoons would have to be sectioned off on inside to keep the weight where its wanted. Looking forward to checking one out when the boat shows roll around in a couple months, will be interesting to see how they set them up. Pontoon makes a nice party boat, doubt I would ever own one but I have learned to "never say never", lol.

Bring on the next generation of surf boats- Pontoon surf boats are here now, maybe a surfable mobilehome will arrive after the surfable pontoonsOriginally posted by Nautiquehunter View PostWOW I never thought I would live to see a thread about thrusters here on Planet Nautique. Between the prop falling off and the poor steering did you ever think that maybe the boat is trying to tell you something? Is there such a thing as too big?

The amount of power our thrusters offer (77lbs of thruster) will have limited effect to the air bubbles produced by the surf pipe. We do offer optional cowlings that fit onto our thrusters and allow user to direct the water flow, which will enhance performance around anything mounted on the stern, air bubbles, plates, etc.

Brian on the demo Yacht Thrusters which are being installed on the White Lake Marine Nautiques, how are they dealing with the loss in efficiences produced from the thrusters by the air bubbles generated by the surf pipe? I have attached a visual of the stock thrusters showing the auxiliary exhausted used during idle. Obviously any potential purchaser of a Yacht Thrusters , who has a Nautique would not want to install an auxiliary exhaust to make the thruster more efficient.
