One of my first questions reading the ad....was how is the thruster powered since it talks about how you can run it at 100% for 8mins or continuous thrust at 80%? So is it a self-contained battery that you have to somehow charge, or hooked to the battery somehow and if so, why is there a time limit....just so you do not run out the battery? Also wondering if it runs on the 12 volt, or if there is some sort of converter for the power (for instance like the Liquid Lumins lights that convert to 24v).

Looks pretty cool, wonder how much of a guinea pig you would be at this stage in the release?

Our thruster is a 12v system that can be powered by your already on board battery. Our unit has an auto power off to avoid over heating, run times of 8mins continuous thrust until auto power off which would be followed by a 2 minute cool down mode. Now with that in mind I would not see anyone needing power for 8 minutes..
We have equipped these on several wake boats now. Including demo units for many dealer networks, one in your backyard actually ( White Lake Marine 6485 US Hwy 701 North

I think this forum would like to hear the results from White Lake Marine since they are a Nautique dealer from the demo units.. I purchased my boat, (Nautique G23) from Webster Marine on Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia and would be interested in possibility purchasing the Easy Drive model should they become a Yacht Thruster dealer which does the install.

White Lake Marine will have videos/photos available next week. I also took the time to reach out to Webster and spoke with Reed the Service Manager who was very impressed with our system. He would be more than happy to do the installation for you and even wanted to speak with the Webster Sales manager on equipping a unit for themselves. Give him a call and ask for Reed, he mentioned he remembers all his Nautique customers!

We will also be releasing later this year a wireless remote which will enable user to maneuver boat from anywhere on board, allowing easy pick up, docking, maneuvering boat onto trailer etc.
We have a full service and sales team ready to answer any questions.

Please let me know if you guys may need any assistance.

I can assure you this time next year you will hear about this unit quite often considering the performance we offer paired with the very competitive price point.

Brian on the demo Yacht Thrusters which are being installed on the White Lake Marine Nautiques, how are they dealing with the loss in efficiences produced from the thrusters by the air bubbles generated by the surf pipe? I have attached a visual of the stock thrusters showing the auxiliary exhausted used during idle. Obviously any potential purchaser of a Yacht Thrusters , who has a Nautique would not want to install an auxiliary exhaust to make the thruster more efficient.

The amount of power our thrusters offer (77lbs of thruster) will have limited effect to the air bubbles produced by the surf pipe. We do offer optional cowlings that fit onto our thrusters and allow user to direct the water flow, which will enhance performance around anything mounted on the stern, air bubbles, plates, etc.

I would agree . I never heard back from them on their test model at White Lake Marine , so it tells me one was ever installed

WOW I never thought I would live to see a thread about thrusters here on Planet Nautique. Between the prop falling off and the poor steering did you ever think that maybe the boat is trying to tell you something? Is there such a thing as too big?

Bring on the next generation of surf boats- Pontoon surf boats are here now, maybe a surfable mobilehome will arrive after the surfable pontoons

Will be interesting to see how the pontoons do. Majority of boats on my large lake are pontoons and my guess is that if the wave is decent at all they will sell well. Wonder where the ballast will be, in the pontoons? That part would actually be kindof cool tho the pontoons would have to be sectioned off on inside to keep the weight where its wanted. Looking forward to checking one out when the boat shows roll around in a couple months, will be interesting to see how they set them up. Pontoon makes a nice party boat, doubt I would ever own one but I have learned to "never say never", lol.
