Not trying to be a jerk but do you have a copy of the owners manual? You can download it from this site in a certain section. I think most maintenance items you’ll find need to be done on certain intervals far less than 1000 hrs, including plugs and wires. Any idea on the maintenance history of this engine?

Like Homey said, without knowing the history of the boat/motor it's tough to say what is needed. If it runs well your ignition system is likely fine, Oil and filter should be changed every fall or 50hrs, check the owners manual for trans service/oil changes. Outside of that you should lube the rudder every fall, check your alignment periodically and everything else per the owners manual. Just keep everything clean and wax the hull and treat the vinyl and enjoy it.

It's really impossible to say given this information. It depends on what's been done, which will require service records. If you don't have any records, then you'll have to assume the work has not been done and take care of it. Oil, filter, fuel filter, transmission fluid and impeller for sure. Probably plugs and wires. I'm not sure about the 2008 6.0L engine regarding the ignition system. Did it have a distributor cap and wires or is it a coil-over?Originally posted by cliff edgington View Posti own a 2008 sv-211 with 1000hrs on the 6.0 liter motor. are there any maintenance items that should be done at this time? spark plugs?plug wires?
