If I want to change the impeller, how do I loosen the belt? Is there ad idler pulley? Where? If I turn a pulley backwards to loosen it, which pulley? Help!

OK, this isn't difficult. First thing: Look at the various pulleys and identify them. Alternator, Raw Water pump, main crank, circulation pump. Then there will be one that's off to the side and it'll have a big hex fitting sticking out, right in the middle of the pulley. This is the belt tensioner. Find the right wrench and pull on it. It should be spring-loaded. Pull it back far enough to get enough slack so the belt will slide off one of the other pulleys.Originally posted by btmacveagh View PostIf I want to change the impeller, how do I loosen the belt?
