Need tach for a 2006 SAN 220

Thanks DW SD and Jeff. Quick question for you. My tachometer has been randomly been jumping around or not coming on at all. When it does decide to work the needle will jump around until the engine reaches 2900-3000 RPM then it will level out. Also the engine hours will only have about half the numbers readable. I'm hoping its isolated to the tach and nothing else. Any thoughts?

Last question. When I replace the tachometer will it reflect the boat's correct hours?

I believe the tach should just be displaying the hours from the engine computer, so I would think the hours would read correctly on the new tach.
