GPS upgrade for PP question

I've a 2005 SV211 TE. I think the PP was upgraded to 2 line display a while back but no GPS.
I'm looking at this as an option (I'll also need a new head unit as the 2 line display keeps fading out)

Any experience on the product compared to the full PP upgrade?
Is it worth doing so over he paddlewheel version?
I use it in a tidal river.
