2016 G21 2:1 Transmission froze!

WakeSurfing today, went to cut throttle to pick downed rider , lost power.
Started engine and gear Clunked went I went Fwd.
killed motor and had someone Dive under.
No Hazzards
Got towed in by fellow WakeSurf boat

Trans Fluid clean and full.

What happened? Bad trans?

I'll take to dealer of course...just wandering what it could be

Yikes, but think of the load that these new transmissions take with high horsepower and heavy boats. Good thing it is under warranty.

I had something similar happen on '17 G23. I was positive I hit something. Limped it back to the lift, went to grab a spare prop. Once it was up, nothing no damage anywhere. Took the boat back out ran perfect. No issues again and it's been 50 hours. No idea what it was, just for the record there 4 other people in the boat and they all felt it.

My engine would restart, but that's about it. We had to get towed and I did not want to attempt putting it into gear again
even out of the water underneath the boat I was unable to turn the propeller with it in neutral
on my way to the dealer now with the boat, I hope it's not a big deal, we use the boat every single weekend

I wonder if the STRUT could have bound up? It made a squeak sound..... Cant find any history of transmission problems

Over a week now at the dealer.
it will go in and out of gear, but the V drive is grinding
they are waiting to hear back from PCM
this sucks, we use the boat every weekend
We put 55 hours on it in the first two months,
been at the dealer 2 1/2 weeks during that time

That really sucks. I am not sure where "Oceanside" you are.. but where I live our summer season is so short 2 1/2 weeks would be unacceptable... We are lucky if we get a full 3 months of summer here!!

Agreed, my summer is usually winding down just after the 4th of July, largely because work and kids schedules.
I am being patient for now. But I had plans to Wake Surf this Saturday and Sunday, + we wanted to take the boat to Lake Havasu early next week.

Let me see, waiting to hear from PCM. I think they have a phone, With the boat being so new they should just ship out a drive and get it going. Then they could call it good customer relations. Making someone wait for weeks to get a drive repaired on a short summer is not reasonable. Turn up the heat so you and your family can get back to the lake.

I had a problem with the Custom trailer they sold me, the response was good, but it did take some time to get it back, and the repair was a bit involved.
all new end units, torsion bars, rotors , brakes and re-bleeding.... Trailer is great now.

I understand boats are not quite as reliable as cars, so Im not looking for instant repairs ...but anything over 2 weeks is going to be a pain.

I had this type of problem with my MCs, so I don't think its unique to CC by any means... Just want the boat back for the reasons you mentioned

new V-drive being overnighted , hope to be on the Water this weekend
