2015 450 Fuel

Guys, quick question, does a 2015 450 engine require premium fuel? Can't get premium on my lake which would be a deal breaker for me.

No. 87 Octane is fine in that engine.

Here's the part from the manual:

ATTENTION: For optimal performance and reliability, the ZR450 application requires the use of premium 93 Octane fuel.

WARNING: The XS550/XR550 Supercharged applications REQUIRE the use of premium 93 Octane

Just out of curiosity, what boat are you considering, and why are you looking at the 450?

I found a G21 we are considering that has the 450. I would be fine with a 409 or 450, but when I had the 550 in my G23, getting refueled was a pain.

I asked my dealer and they said that engine is really only desirable if you're boating at a high-altitude lake. Down here, it's an $8000 option that just burns more gas, especially in a 21' boat. The 409 is more than enough for a G21 at this altitude.

Yea either would be fine for me. We are just having trouble finding the right combo of colors and options. Seems used boat demand is pretty high right now

Understood. I looked like crazy for a "leftover" 2016 SANTE 230 and just couldn't find anything. They were all stripped down as far as options go. I looked for a month and finally we just ordered a new 2017....
