Can anyone confirm if the early 2000s era nautique swim deck hardware came from the factory anodized black?
Im refinishing my swim deck brackets and they appeared to have some black anodizing on them (most of which wore off it appears). I stripped them
with a soak in a lye (drain cleaner) bath and all the black came off which suggests it could have been anodizing. I have a metal plating shop refinishing the pylon and re-anodizing it black but the swim deck parts I would like to confirm what their factory condition was because I can't find any pictures of what they looked like new. I started sanding on some of the brackets when I took these pics (hence the shiny aluminum) but the black definitely wasn't paint as far as I can tell. Not sure if I should leave them bare aluminum or have them anodized black like the pylon. The pylon trim ring will get powder coated I just threw that in the lye bath to etch the sanding marks off of it and smooth it out.
