calibrating ballast system for 2014 Nautique 230

I have a 2014 230 with the pro ballast system. The dealer recently fixed a problem for me with my stereo bluetooth and since doing that fix the Linc system now thinks I have a smaller ballast system with just 740 lbs total rather than 2100 lbs. I now have to cycle the pumps multiple times to fill and drain. I'm assuming this happened due to some reset they did for the LINC system when they fixed the stereo issue. I've told the dealership and they plan to come out (my boat is at a marina) but they are three weeks out to come take a look at it.

Does anyone know of a user accessible way to adjust this or do I just need to wait 3 weeks for them to come look at it? BTW, I'd ideally love to adjust it to recognize that I've put bigger bags in the back, but at a minimum I want it to go back to recognizing the standard 2100lb ballast system like it did before. (The dealership claims there is no way to recognize larger bags than the pro ballast system, but I thought I had read on here that others have somehow done this.)

I am experiencing the same issue - warranty dept replaced my Linc after screen was freezing, now ballast weight is @740 as well - boat diagram on screeen even looks different. If I find any programming info I will reach out to you, let me know if you get any answers, thx.

The linc screen is the same on all the various boats (210, 230, g23) for this year model. Your linc is probably programmed with the incorrect boat as well as it does not have the "proballast" option checked in the dealer menu. Get in touch with your dealer or who ever dealt with the warranty replacement and get the dealer code to change these options in the "dealer settings" page. Hopefully this helps.

Will the dealer actually give you that code or do you have to take it back in and have them do it?

Depends....call them and explain the issue. Have heard sime will and others will not but its about a 5min fix and if u live hours away it would suck to have to take the boat all the way in.

Yep, I would assume the option is not selected in the LINC system. Guntersville230 is probably right on.

Nautique customer service called me back & walked me through reprogramming Link - 200 was selected instead of 230 w/ pro ballast...... cuts service has been amazing since we've boat this boat - kudos!

I've got a related question...how does the system measure the level in the tanks & bags of a pro-ballast setup? Do the pumps run on timers? Are there weight sensors of some kind or floats in the tanks? I don't know how the system works with the combination of hard tanks and bags? Maybe a pressure switch when everything is full?

As I understand it, it is based on timers. I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will quickly correct me.

That's unfortunate...I have to assume that as pumps wear out you would have to visually check your ballast to see if it is truly full? Maybe someone could comment to confirm that the pro ballast bags ONLY fill once the tanks fill first?

The pro ballast bags are connected to the tank vents and fill after the tanks. It is on a timer.

They fill at the same time. There's a Y after the pump in the rear that you can see if you lift up the bags.

Ah...so they fill at the same time but also connected at the vent to overflow one way or the other until the timer is up I guess?

Yeah, there's a vent hose with a check valve between the tops of the hard tanks and the tops of the bags that lets air or water out of the bags as they fill (or overfill). When you empty it, the bag gets sucked dry and the overflow hose from the hard tank provides make-up air if needed so as to not collapse the tanks once the they're empty. You just listen for "the sound" and then you know to turn the pumps off. Hope I explained it well enough.

So I just added bags to my 2014 210. This was the first year the pro ballast was an option but original owner did not go with the Pro Ballast. Do I need to have my Linc system reprogrammed to recognize it now has pro ballast?
