2002 Ignition Keypad buttons

Just bought a 02 SAN and wondering what the "up and down" buttons on the ignition keypad are for?

They were for the boats with the single piece sun deck on the back of the boat. The hatch that you open up to access the engine. They had rams attached to the hatch and you could open it using the up and down buttons. I also have those buttons on mine and I have the 3 hatches.
