I just got my 2004 SV211 out on the water for the first time this weekend and noticed there is a lot of play in the steering (like 3-4 inches). It doesn't feel stiff so I'm not sure if I need to replace the cable. Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the 'play' out of the steering?

Check the steering cable bar and steering cable attachment. https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resi...int=video,.mp4

That is the top side of the rudder so on a v-drive it's under the engine/exhaust. If you have ballast tanks you may need to remove the tank on one side and the engine divider to get to it. I can't remember for sure but I think it might be easier to access from the starboard side.Originally posted by Alpine331 View PostQuick question though. How are you accessing the that area? Did you pull up the floor because I can't seem to find it.Shawn

Remove the motor cover by opening it up and pulling the 2 holders. On my boat they don't screw in 1999 Nautique.
Remote the rear seat. On mine you just lift them up and there is an attachment on both sides
Lift up on the floor board it. Should just lift up. Start lifting at the motor end.
Mine is a bit older so would bet it's a bit easier to access.Last edited by jhersey29; 05-06-2014, 01:19 PM.
