    Ignition switch problem

On my 82 SN 2001, I'll turn the key and nothing will happen. I can keep turning the key and eventually it will fire. Now when I turn the key to off, sometimes the boat doesn't stop running. Is this an ignition switch problem and if so, who sells the part to fix it? Thanks in advance

    RE: Ignition switch problem

Mid-Ohio Watersports (button at top of page) or Discount Inboard Marine are two of many locations that sell the switch.

      RE: Ignition switch problem

It sounds like you have a worn out solenoid on your engine. Ford engines require a lot of juice to start correctly and if your battery is old or not fully charged it will wear out a solenoid and or your starter. Strange starting problems that act like gremlins can be caused by any weakness in the starting system. I have researched this personally because I had a similar problem with my '81 Ski Nautique. This should solve your problem.
