Just happened to step on the side platform of my Ram-Lin trailer for a 2002 SN CB...despite the carpet looking almost brand new, I almost fell through the trailer. All of the wood is rotten. The bunks seem to be fine. Are there any templates available to make sizing easier and are there any wood substitutes that would make this the last time I have to change the boards/carpet? I attempted to contact Ramblin but got the standard "call your Nautique dealer" response.

Try using the old pieces for a template, and replace with diamond plate alum, or plywood coated with matching color bedliner.2005 Ski Nautique 206 SE, Acme 422, PP SG 8.0, ND Tower

Agreed. The diamond plate works especially well. The wood just holds too much water. Please do not PM me directly asking for advice on how to repair your boat. That's the biggest reason to not buy a ramlin trailer...I hate that policy. Now usually, they will give you a part number if you email ramlin@ramlin.com with the trailer vin. Then you contact your dealer with the part number...its like a triangle.Originally posted by jguanciale View PostI attempted to contact Ramblin but got the standard "call your Nautique dealer" response.

I just redid the wood on my 2002 Ramlin trailer with outdoor plywood and coated it with Hurculiner bed liner. WOW does it look nice! And it won't stay wet for days after it get dunked. Ill try to get you some pictures. I used the old wood for a template. You will need one sheet (4'x8') of outdoor plywood. and one gallon of bed liner was more than enough. The whole project cost me about $130.00

You know...that's something that should be done while the old boards are still good enough for templates. I'll check mine this year...trailer was put in service 7/2007.Originally posted by h20fun View PostI just redid the wood on my 2002 Ramlin trailer with outdoor plywood and coated it with Hurculiner bed liner. Please post some pics when you get a chance. My boards are still solid but I'd like to upgrade at some point and was thinking diamond plate but I like the sound of what you did.Originally posted by h20fun View PostI just redid the wood on my 2002 Ramlin trailer with outdoor plywood and coated it with Hurculiner bed liner. i redid mine in 3/4" king starboard and used the originals as the template also. that shape is pretty tough on the person doing the cutting (for a tandem axle anyway), so you'll need a pro to cut that out in diamond plate if you go that route ... yeah, i tried to get ramlin to sell me some pre-cut diamond plated steps like they put on some newer trailers but they claimed to no longer have the 03 patterns, haha2003 SANTE - "OG 210"

I redid the rotted out steps on my old trailer by using 3/4" AB quality plywood and sprayed it with linex, which worked great. You have to make sure the wood is super dry as the linex goes on hot and will evaporate moisture in the wood and cause bubbles, on one piece I had a knot that was still wet and they applying the linex had to redo that spot after hitting it with a torch to dry it out. If you go this route don't use pressure treated plywood as the chemicals keep the wood moist and will react with the linex coating.
To replicate the exact shape that was on my wishbone ram-lin trailer I would have needed an 4' x 10' sheet of plywood, so I instead made two sections and didn't bother with covering the space behind the wheel well, you can't step there anyways with the boat on the trailer. This way a standard 4 x 8 works.
The linex spray costs were higher than anticipated (maybe $250 in the end), they charge by the sq foot and since you have to spray both sides it adds up. It did come out great though, and wasn't too slippery when wet.2018 Ski Nautique 200 TE, H6
