keep blowing fuse for right trailer light??

so everything on my trailer works: left turn signal, left brake light, running lights on both sides and all but one marker light near the nose of the trailer. however, the right turn signal nor brake light will work at all. i've replaced the 10amp fuse that is in the cabin of my 04 yukon(10 amp fuse to the left of the steering column) 3 times today. not once did the brake light or turn signal work, and i tried it with lights on and off, with a different adapter, brakes applied with blinker and without, etc. the fuse wasn't blown half way through the different scenarios i tried. when i was done i checked again and it's blown. would the trailer be causing this or is it in my truck?

I would say skip the truck and use a car battery and check the trailer wiring.

Was thinking the same thing. Right turn/brake light is green wire; LT/Brake wire is yellow; running lights and tailligts are your brown wire. Blowing a fuse is typically attributed to short-to-ground. So in your case, sounds like your brown wire and your yellow wires are ok. Check your right turn/brake light wire (green) at the trailer connecter (unplugged from truck) by performing a continuity check (with ohm meter) between this wire and the ground wire in the connector. If you don't see a short...move/jiggle this wire while checking. If you have a short...then you have isolated your problem to your trailer yellow wire. As Scott mentioned, I would check tongue area first and then the right tail light assembly. If you cannot find the short in the trailer wire, then check your truck connector wiring.

i just had a new harness installed recently. how do i check it with a car battery? i'm about to go check the tongue. i've checked the truck connector wires and cleaned contact points. on a side note-it's 50/50 when it'll happen, but sometimes my touch screen in my truck will flash once when i hit the break, or continue flashing dim to bright if im braking and using either turn signal.

Assume your new harness is on the trailer?

Checking with a battery - easiest way is to take a junk connector (the flat 4 or 5 way connector receptacle) and pig tail with loose wires you can plug into your trailer wiring connector, then you can check your light circuits by touching the ground wire (white) to the battery (-) post. Then touch each of the brown (tail and markers), yellow (left turn/brake) and green (right turn/brake). This should light your lights on each circuit.

Yep! That's exactly what I meant by using a battery. Have to buy the extra connector/pig tail...but seems like always use from time to time on one trailer or another. Or neighbors or something.
