Sport Nautique not starting

Took the boat out today, and the 2nd time we shut it down it would not turn over. The safety line was in place, boat was in neutral and the ignition button in,.. nothing, no gauges on, no attempts to turn over just 1 click and nothing. The blower worked the whole time. After about 10 tries and fired up. I then left it running to ski a few more times and then took it back to the dock were it did the same thing. ideas?

Which engine do you have? It sounds like you have a mid '90's boat.

Almost certain that you need a new starter relay. The mid-90's boats go through them over time. My '94 had the exact same issue. Cheap part, and very easy to replace. Be sure to use the PlanetNautique discount when ordering!

It is the 95 SN. Does the relay go all or nothing or just out all together. It seemed dead, then fired up. By the way where is the link to to the discount? How much am I looking at to replace?

Those relays do exactly what you describe above when they fail.

Another thing to look at is the neutral saftey switch. Mine was doing the same thing you are discribing and my NSS was out of adjustment.

No, it is a small 2 wire electrical connection at the transmission that will make for the starting circuit when it is in neutral and open it when it is engaged.
