2002 SANTE taking in water

My 2002 sante seems to be taking in some water. I am not sure from where but bilge always seems to pumping water whien I am out on the water. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions where I should start looking?

Obvious places are shaft and rudder packing. If you do much surfing, check the hull to deck seal and make sure you're not tasking water in the side vents.

Are you referreing to where they mount on the bottom of the hull?

Probably a slim chance the same thing is happening to you, but I started taking water on from the exhaust muffler. It's that big fiberglass muffler that the exhaust hoses go into. It started out as a small hole that wore through the fiberglass that I patched up until the whole thing fell apart.

That's a good point. Check to make sure there isn't any water leaking from the engine when it is running.

And yes, the packing is located at the point that the shaft comes through the hull. Same with the rudder.

I have an '04 that I think is leaking at the shaft packing, which I believe is a dripless packing. Despite being located directly below the v-drive transmission, I think I will be able to use a mirror to determine if it is in fact leaking. In the event it needs serviced, any suggestions on how to access it without removing the transmssion?
