    15w40 ford diesel oil

    i use 15w40 ford motorcraft diesel oil in my 08 6.4 powerstroke. can this be used in my 6.0 zr6 motor in my 196. or is there a better choice

      You sure can. That and Rotella. As for the question is there a better choice, I won't open up that can of worms...........again. But you're good to go.

          It appears that the ford diesel oil has more ZDDP in it than the new formulas of rotella do. It even has more ZDDP than even the old higher ZDDP rotella before they lowered the amounts recently.

                      Nope.

                      I use the Motorcraft 15W40 oil in the 5 quart jugs from Walmart in my SAN, 6.0 PSD Excursion and my old Landcruiser.

                          It is just marketed as a diesel oil because it is the viscosity that most light duty diesel pickup engines use. Read the back....there is an API gasoline engine rating just like all the others. The others probably have a diesel engine rating as well.
